How to find out the model of my MacBook?

Finding the right product(s) for your device can be a bit confusing, especially as newer models come out. Follow our guide below to locate your iPad model.

Once you know your product's model, you can double-check if a product is compatible with your MacBook model.

Identifying your MacBook

There are two simple ways to find your MacBook model:

1. Check in macOS

With your MacBook turned on:

1. Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen
2. Select “About This Mac”

A window will appear showing your model name, for example, MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016).

2. Check the Model Number on the Device

You can also identify your MacBook using its model number:

1. Remove any case or protective cover
2. Turn your MacBook over
3. Look at the small text at the bottom

You’ll find a model number starting with “A” (e.g., A2338).
