Setting Up Your Device
Compatibility
The Qulio Finder Tag works with iOS 14.5 or later and requires Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to be enabled for your Apple ID. If 2FA is not turned on, follow the steps below:
1. Turn on Two-Factor Authentication
On iPhone
- Go to Settings > your name > Sign-In & Security
- Tap Turn On Two-Factor Authentication
- Tap Continue and follow the on-screen instructions
On Mac
- Open Apple menu > System Settings
- Click your name (Apple ID)
- Select Sign-In & Security
- Next to Two-Factor Authentication, click Turn On, then follow the instructions
On the web
- Visit appleid.apple.com and sign in
- Answer your security questions, then tap Continue
- Tap Update Account Security and follow the instructions
2. Turn on Find My
A. Go to Settings
B. Tap your name > Find My
C. Tap Find My iPhone, then turn on Find My iPhone
3. Turn on Bluetooth
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled in Settings > Bluetooth.
4. Connect to the Internet
Make sure your iPhone is connected to a stable Wi-Fi or cellular network.
5. Turn on Location Services
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services, then turn it On.
Getting Started with Qulio Finder Tag
Turn On
Press the power button once.
A beep will confirm the device is powered on.
Turn Off
Short-press the power button two times, then press and hold until you hear a beep.
This indicates the device has been turned off.
If the Qulio Finder Tag is not paired within 10 minutes, it will automatically turn off and beep once. Turn it back on to continue pairing.
Factory Reset
Press the power button four times, then press and hold until a beep sounds.
The beep indicates that the factory reset is complete.
Pairing Your Qulio Finder Tag
- Make sure your iPhone setup is complete (see Setting Up Your Device) and the Qulio Finder Tag is turned on.
- Open the Find My app.
- Short-press the power button two times. A beep will confirm the tag is ready to pair.
- Go to the Items tab and tap Add New Item.
- Select Other Supported Item. Your iPhone will begin searching for the Qulio Finder Tag.
- When your tag appears, tap Connect.
- Follow the on-screen steps to name and register the device with your Apple ID.
- Confirm that your Qulio Finder Tag appears under Items.
If it does not appear:
- Remove (“forget”) the item
- Perform a factory reset on the Qulio Finder Tag
- Try pairing again
Important: Do not leave the Find My app while pairing.
Locate Your Qulio Finder Tag
View Location
You can check the current location of your Qulio Finder Tag through the Find My and Maps apps.
- Open the Find My app.
- Tap the Items tab.
- Select your Qulio Finder Tag from the list.
- Tap Directions to open the location in the Maps app and navigate to it.
Play a Sound Alert
- Open the Find My app.
- Tap the Items tab.
- Select your Qulio Finder Tag and tap Play Sound*.
*A sound will only play if:
- Your iPhone is connected to the internet, and
- Your Qulio Finder Tag is within Bluetooth range (approx. 160 ft / 50 m).
Set Up “Notify When Left Behind”
Receive an alert if your Qulio Finder Tag becomes separated from your iPhone.
- Open the Find My app.
- Tap the Items tab.
- Select your Qulio Finder Tag and scroll down.
- Under Notifications, tap Notify When Left Behind and turn it on.
When enabled, your iPhone will notify you if your tag leaves Bluetooth range for an extended period.
If you’ve given your item a custom name, that name will appear in the alert; otherwise, it will show as Qulio Finder Tag.
Enable “Notify When Found”
Use this feature when your Qulio Finder Tag is not currently locatable.
- Open the Find My app.
- If the device’s location is unavailable, you will see No Location Found under its name.
- Under Notifications, turn on Notify When Found.
You will receive a notification once the device is detected again on the Find My network.
Important: Make sure Find My notifications are enabled in your device’s settings.
Mark Your Qulio Finder Tag as Lost
Activate Lost Mode to help someone return your item if it’s found.
- Open the Find My app.
- Tap the Items tab.
- Select your Qulio Finder Tag and scroll down.
- Ensure Notify When Left Behind is enabled.
- Under Lost Mode, tap Enable, then tap Continue.
- Enter your phone number or email address so a finder can contact you.
- Tap Activate.
Change the Name of Your Qulio Finder Tag
- Open the Find My app and tap the Items tab.
- Select your Qulio Finder Tag.
- Scroll down and tap Rename Item.
- Choose a preset name or tap Custom Name.
- Enter your custom name and choose an emoji.
- Tap Done.
Remove Your Qulio Finder Tag
Removing the tag from your Apple ID allows someone else to set it up and use it.
- Make sure the Qulio Finder Tag is connected to your iPhone.
- Open the Find My app.
- In the Items tab, select your Qulio Finder Tag.
- Tap Remove Item, then tap Remove again to confirm.
*If the Qulio Finder Tag is not connected when removed, it will no longer be discoverable.
A factory reset will be required before pairing it again (see Getting Started > Factory Reset).
Unwanted Tracking Notifications
If your Qulio Finder Tag becomes separated from your iPhone and is detected moving with another person’s Apple device over time, that person will automatically receive a tracking alert.
This is a built-in Apple safety feature designed to prevent unwanted tracking.
Charging Your Qulio Finder Tag
- Charge the device using a USB-C cable (charger not included).
- While charging, the status light turns orange.
- When fully charged, the status light turns green.
- For best performance, fully charge your Qulio Finder Tag once every four months.
